The so called first horn concerto in D KV 412 is actually incomplete, and comprises a number of different parts, which according to musicologists don t really fit well together at all. The original finale movemnt (KV514) only existed in sketch form, with string accompaniment and was lost during World War II. In spite of this however, this remains one of the most popular horn concertos.
